Artists have high hopes for inaugural Poinciana festival

The first-ever Poinciana arts festival kicks off tonight, and Cayman’s homegrown musicians, filmmakers, and artists have high hopes for the three day event.

Recording artist and performer Josh Pearl told Cayman 27 he sees big things ahead for Cayman’s creative community.

He said the island has a lot to offer in terms of talent, and Poinciana is the right vehicle to showcase the fruits of that labour.

“I really see everything growing with the music and videos and everything in Cayman,”said Mr. Pearl.  “Just the industry of art itself is definitely growing and the Poinciana festival does help it. Like how you say it might be small for now, but it definitely is a start and this is something that Cayman has never had.”

He hopes the festival will inspire young people to tap into their own creativity.
