Boys in blue go green

Now it seems our boys, and girls, in blue are going green.

The RCIPS has taken delivery of two hybrid ford focus cars as part of a pilot scheme to reduce carbon footprint.

In the coming months, the cars’ performance will be analysed and with a view to introducing more hybrids in the future.

The Ministry of Home Affairs spent almost $700,000 so although they are splashing out on the new cars now, in the long run, they hope to save money.

These vehicles use a mixture of gas and electric to power them.
