Cayman Maritime offers scholarship

Maritime Authority of the Cayman Islands is offering an opportunity to jump-start your seafaring career. Maritime Authority’s Beverley McField-Walters and Scholarship recipient Kayla Martin are on the couch with Daybreak’s Delisa Hernandez to talk about what the main role of Cayman Maritime is and it’s can be a good choice for young people.

Ms. Martin shares her experience in Liverpool as she continues to pursue a masters in maritime operations management.

Delisa Hernandez

Delisa Hernandez made her TV debut in 2010, as producer and co-host of Cayman 27’s The Conversation. She went on to produce and host The Pulse Cayman 27’s weekly Friday night entertainment show.

In 2011 Delisa was tapped to co-host and co-produce Daybreak - the morning show on Cayman 27. In 2012, she became a weather anchor for Daybreak and then weather anchor for the 6 pm newscast in 2014. She also produced and anchored ‘Entertainment Extra’ a weekly entertainment segment in the 6pm newscast.

She is bi-lingual speaking both English and Spanish. She was born and raised in the Cayman Islands to a Caymanian mother and Honduran Father, with one sibling and 4 dogs.
