Changes coming for CPLT20

The Caribbean Premier League Twenty20 tournament is set to dole out more cash this season in an attempt to draw bigger stars.

CPL Cricket Operations Director Michael hall says the salary cap has increased from US $600,000 to US $780,000.

“The primary reason for that increase is that teams have been afforded the opportunity to go to the player market before the draft and try to sign players who, in their opinion, are marquee players,” Hall said.

Other changes include increasing the squads to 17 players. There also is a guaranteed spot for a West Indies Under-19 player in the league as well as a player from the ICC Americas.
