CIFA may change expat limits for clubs

Cayman Islands Football Association leaders are considering a proposal to change the number of non-local players who can play for domestic clubs.

Right now, most clubs are limited to six non-Caymanian players.

Details on the proposal are few.

A CIFA spokesperson confirmed the association is considering changes to clubs’ roster makeup but that it would not necessarily raise the limit of expat players allowed on each team. He said the proposal is designed to better reflect Cayman’s overall demographics.
