Concern after tourists robbed

Tourism officials have continued to express their disgust after Monday (11 January) night’s robbery.

Two elderly visitors, and their friend, were robbed at their home in North Side. A 77 year old man needed hospital treatment after he was punched in the face.

“This is not the norm,” said Tourism Councillor Joey Hew.

“So what we have to do is to continue to work together as a country to ensure that this does not become the norm for us.

Marc Langvin of the Cayman Islands Tourism Board added: “It’s obviously very unfortunate, and certainly not something we want on our island.”

Anyone with information about the robbery should call police on 947-2220
