Cops Use New Tactics

Acting Police Sergeant Cornelius Pompey says that the skills he learnt at The University of the West Indies about Community Policing have already taken effect in his daily duties.

Photo 1 - APS Pompey“I wouldn’t say the biggest, we do have quite a few challenges and one of them as I said, being not enough officers to fill the beat, another in community participation and we have done some programs to combat this problem in terms of, what we call a community clinic, where we go out and gather information, get to talk with the people, get to have the relationship with the community. But it still is a problem, it’s a challenge where persons still don’t want to come forward to talk with the Police, something that, despite a challenge, we are working on a daily basis.” Acting Police Sergeant Cornelius Pompey.

Stage one of the Community Policing education was successfully accomplished by the RCIPS, we wait to hear the results of Stage two.
