Discussions over opposition leadership underway

North Side MLA Ezzard Miller confirms there are discussions as to whether to ask the governor to appoint a new Opposition Leader.

Currently Hon. McKeeva bush is the opposition leader, but the 4 independents on the opposition benches outnumber his party by 1. “So it is going to be an interesting situation, I would assume the opposition leader has switched parties – it’s two different parties according to him, he will have to apply to the governor for his reappointment so there is room for maneuvering,” said Mr. Miller.

Mr. Bush announced the United Democratic Party will now be known as the Cayman Democratic Party (CDP).
No date for the next sitting of the LA has been set yet.
