Golfers swing away in 1st National team qualifier

Cayman’s golfers over the weekend took to the North Sound Club vying for a spot on the National golf team.

The first of six qualifying events in 2016 to find the team for the Caribbean Classic Championships, in April, and the Caribbean Amateur Championships, in August.

Payten Wight finished in the top spot overall for the men, shooting an even-par 72. Brian Ross finished right behind him at 1-over-par 73.

Robert Woods shot 77 in the men’s senior division.

In the men’s super senior class, Eustace Jeffers shot 73.

The next qualifier is 30 January at the Blue Tip Golf Course.
