Harmonic topped the list of 12 teams to claim the title at the annual Mixed 9s tournament, which signals the start of the Gaelic Football season.
Organisers estimate about 180 players showed up — roughly half of which were new players — and in the end it was Harmonic that won it all.
“So everyone’s come down today — we had some games last night — but everyone’s down here today just having a good time, getting to know the game of Gaelic football” Cayman Islands Gaelic Football Club President Derek O’Toole said. “It’s a great sport to get involved in. It’s an easy one to get involved in and it’s a very sociable group. It’s nothing too competitive.”
