This holiday weekend join in the celebration of those who laid the ground work, to create Cayman’s agriculture industry.
Heroes Day will take place on Monday 25 January. This year’s ceremony honours persons in the community for their significant contribution to agriculture in the Cayman Islands. Nominations categories include early pioneer, pioneer, emerging pioneer, memorial scroll and long service award. Awardees will receive a commemorative insignia or certificate of honour.
The celebration is hosted by the Premier, Alden McLaughlin, and the Minster of Agriculture, Kurt Tibbetts. Taking place in Heroes Square, wreaths will be laid in honour of Cayman’s national heroes, and the awardees will be recognised. After the ceremony, celebrations will continue with food, music, and a agriculture showcase.
