Murray to meet Djokovic in Australian Open final

Briton Andy Murray rallied to beat Milos Raonic in five sets Friday (29 January) to earn a spot in the men’s singles final at the Australian Open.

There, he’ll meet Novak Djokovic, the tournament’s top seed.

Murray and Raonic split the first two sets before Raonic won the third in the tiebreak, but Murray rallied to take the last two sets and the 4-6, 7-5, 6-7(4), 6-4, 6-2 win.

“He played extremely well yesterday from the tennis that I saw,” Murray said of Djokovic. “Played very well. Came out hitting the ball extremely clean from the beginning and put Roger (Federer) under pressure from the beginning of the match.”

Also on day 12 of the competition, Martina Hingis and Sania Mirza clinched the women’s doubles title.
