O’Garro drops 20 in debut, compares Cayman with German pro league

Samuel O’Garro says the talent in the Cayman Islands is comparable to the German pro league in which he now plays.

O’Garro scored 20 points in his professional debut with TSV Neustadt, a club playing in the second regional league in Germany.

He says the level of competition is that league is similar to the Cayman Islands domestic league.

“It is not that far apart,” O’Garro said. “Skill-wise, I don’t think that we lack anything. It’s just that when it comes in terms of experience and teamwork, it’s a little different. So over here their teamwork is excellent and they have very good coaching. And the guys over here are tough. They allow a little bit more rude play and stuff like that.”

O’Garro added five rebounds and four assists in his debut with the Shooters, who are middle-of-the-pack in their division.
