Raising the goal post

Acting CIFA President Bruce Blake says Cayman’s coaches could take a page from the book of their counterparts in abroad, when training players.

Mr. Blake says a perfect example of that is the tier level training programme being bone by the Head Coach of the University of North Carolina’s Women Programme.

“How he structure his programme is that each drill you have a first division, second division, third division and fourth division . He takes the first division his assistant coach takes the second division and then another assistant and then another assistant. But they do all their drills that way and then the players are graded based on their performance in that way and then they are promoted and relegated.”

Mr Blake says that is just one of several techniques that could be used to help increase the performance of Cayman’s athletes.
