Students tackle trash problems

Students are putting their engineering skills to the test, as they prepare to participate in the Lego robotics competition in Florida. Daybreak’s Delisa Hernandez talks to Team coach
Allison Smith, Cyber Pirates Johnathon Bedasse and Cyber Rays Crystal Corkish about how the competition works. The students explain what they will present at the competition and what they learned about the trash in Cayman.

Delisa Hernandez

Delisa Hernandez made her TV debut in 2010, as producer and co-host of Cayman 27’s The Conversation. She went on to produce and host The Pulse Cayman 27’s weekly Friday night entertainment show.

In 2011 Delisa was tapped to co-host and co-produce Daybreak - the morning show on Cayman 27. In 2012, she became a weather anchor for Daybreak and then weather anchor for the 6 pm newscast in 2014. She also produced and anchored ‘Entertainment Extra’ a weekly entertainment segment in the 6pm newscast.

She is bi-lingual speaking both English and Spanish. She was born and raised in the Cayman Islands to a Caymanian mother and Honduran Father, with one sibling and 4 dogs.
