Bad weather postpones Navy visit

A Royal Navy ship due to dock in Cayman Thursday (11 February) has been forced to postpone, because of this week’s bad weather.

HMS Mersey could be seen off the coast but the river class patrol vessel wasn’t stopping

A nor’wester is still churning up the waters in George Town, making it difficult to dock.

The ship’s Commanding Officer, Lieutenant Commander Richard Hewitt still met with officials, but all activities have been postponed.

It’s hoped the vessel, the youngster in the Royal Navy fleet, will return later in February.
