He’s an electro-jazz cellist, trombonist, and composer who has worked alongside such musical luminaries as Kanye West and Sean “P-diddy” Combs.
He’s also the proud owner of some heavy hardware from the music industry.
Grammy award winner Dana Leong will be bringing his “electrifying” cello stylings to the Harquail theatre for this year’s Cayfest showcase..
In addition, he will collaborate with Caymanian grammy winner Jason Gilbert and Samuel Rose from the Swanky Kitchen Band on a very special project.
Cayman 27 caught up with him via face-time from New York, and he says he’s excited to discover Cayman’s own local talent.
One of the most celebrated producers in music today, is Jason Gilbert who lives in the Cayman Islands right, and he’s been working with people like Eminem and a lot of hip-hop stars at the moment. I look forward to meeting folks like him and I look forward to meeting folks at the local schools because you never know where talent is going to pop up,” said Mr. Leong.
The Red Sky at Night festival kicks off Thursday the 25th with the National Arts and Culture Awards.
Friday the 26th is dress down for culture day, and later that night the Cayman Islands National folk singers will be performing at the Harquail.
And of course, the main event, Red Sky at Night will bring poets, dancers, and craftspeople to the grounds of the Harquail starting on Saturday the 27th.
