ID made on bodies found in boat last year

Families in the Dominican Republican have been notified that their relatives were the two men whose bodies were discovered last August in a boat found adrift near Little Cayman.

The bodies were badly decomposed and DNA testing was needed to positively identify the men as Eduard Eugenio Taveras Toribio, 37, and Manuel Henriquez, 58, both Dominican Republic nationals.

Both men were living in Jamaica at the time and working as fishermen. An RCIPS statement says there was no sign of violence and authorities are left to theorize that the boat experienced engine failure and the men never found help while adrift at sea.
