Education minister Tara Rivers told Cayman 27 tangible progress on the new John Gray High school will be seen by early next year.
The minister said she has been given assurances from the Public Works Department that the gymnasium of the beleaguered new John Gray campus will finally be finished.
She said much is going on behind the scenes to move the project forward.
“I’m told that the groundwork that was needed in order to kind of move the process forward, a lot of that has already started and that they’re doing the technical surveys and the engineering reviews,” said Ms. Rivers. “All of this is taking place as we speak, and so shovels in ground will hopefully follow shortly thereafter.”
Last year, Premier Alden McLaughlin told Cayman 27 government cannot afford to finish the school in any one budget year, but will work in stages to complete the job.
