Leaping Lionfish: CULL tournament about more than bragging rights

Cayman 27’s top story for 29 February  – ridding our waters of an invasive predator.

Teams of divers and free-divers rounded up more than 1,300 lionfish over the weekend in Cayman United Lionfish League – or CULL’s 17th tournament, competing for cash prizes and bragging rights.

But for CULL, introducing lionfish to restaurant menus is as important as the bragging rights for the champion cullers.

CULL’s Katie O’Neill joined Cayman 27’s Edlyn Ruiz to discuss the organisation’s efforts.
