More partnerships in the pipeline

Employment Minister Hon. Tara Rivers says a number of partnerships are in the pipeline with the private sector.

Even though there was that recent tussle with the Chamber of Commerce over input from the business lobby group towards a revision of the Labour Law, Minister Rivers says she is keen to work on that and other relationships, like the one with audit firm E&Y on what is called the ‘Board Apprentice.’ “And that is something being driven by the private sector. E&Y picked it up and ran with it. It creates board readiness among Caymanians, among women, so it really ticks the box as to what we are trying to do from education, employment and gender affairs perspective,” she said.

Other partnerships include medical training with Health City Cayman Islands (HCCI), Cayman Finance and the Hospitality School.
