National team hopefuls swing in the rain

Roughly 50 people came out on Saturday (30 January) to play in the second Cayman Islands Golf Association National team qualifying tournament.

The problem — the weather was horrendous.

Battling torrential downpours, Steven Lill managed a 3-over-75 through 18 holes. He was followed by Michael Wight’s 77 and a 78 from Payten Wight and Robert Woods. Brian Ross shot 79.

CIGA rules stipulate play must continue unless lightning is spotted.
