New chief, new plans

New Fire Chief David Hails says he has plans to help make the country proud  of Cayman’s fire service.

Topping the list of things he wants to see changed is improved training for his team, and more equipment. He says having these things will tremendously impact the services they are able to provide.

“Well what we need to do is really think about what our role which  is supporting the community and serving the community. We need to ensure that we can respond with the right trained personnel, with the correct equipment, and put the equipment into good use when we arrive to a situation which needs dealing with,” said Mr Hails.

He adds there is also a need for more man, within the service.
