Cayman 27 – ARCHIVE

A new crystal gem for Cayman’s tourism crown

Cayman Crystal Caves may soon become the latest gem of our tourism product. The Cave are believed to be millions of years old and are snuggled deep within the remote district of North Side.

The attraction features a trail hike in lush Caymanian flora, with majestic caves untouched by man for thousands of years. It spans over 200 acres, however the public only has access to 48 acres. and while that’s only a 12.5% of the entire reverse it offers three  which offer three breathtaking caves. One of which has a huge stalactite that resembles a shark tooth.

Joseph Welcome, has been a tour guide in Cayman for more than 15 years, he told Cayman 27, as far as dollar value is concerned the Cayman Crystal Caves is ‘on top’.

“Repeat tourist, they don’t want to go to Stingray City again and again. They want something new, so I think it’s here to stay,” said Welcome.

The caves are open to the public, but to tour them you must first make a reservation.
