Prison visitors may get extended stay

Two visitors to HMP Northward run the risk of becoming residents at the prison after a weekend arrest.

A release from the Prison Service on Monday (22 February) stated that two people were arrested on suspicion of smuggling contraband. The statement did not give the names, gender or ages of the suspects. It said the two were searched thoroughly while at the prison and that drugs and a cell phone were discovered. The two were detained until police arrived from Bodden Town.
