Registration is open for the third annual Deputy Governor 5K Challenge (DG5K). The challenge is part of the Deputy Governor’s vision to have a healthier, more active and more socially engaged civil service. The general public is invited to join in on the challenge.
Each year the challenge supports a charity. The 2016 charity is the Cayman Heart Fund (CHF). Money raised from the challenge will be used to help the Cayman Heart Fund buy an ambulance for the hospital. The CHF has raised close to $50,000 for the ambulance, and needs to raise $100,000 more. The hope is that the race will help them raise another $50,000.
This year’s race will be featured on social media. When registering you are asked to take a selfie and use the hashtag #DG5KChallenge2016.
