Scholars International’s men’s team will have to wait two more weeks before facing the best clubs in the Caribbean.
The Caribbean Football Union today (4 February) announced it is postponing Group 3 play in its upcoming Club Championships.
The defending Cayman Islands Football Association (CIFA) Premier League champions were slated to face host Montego Bay United and Trinidad and Tobago’s Central FC in the competition later this month.
The CFU, however, postponed the group’s scheduled after the Jamaican Government announced the country will hold National elections on 25 February.
Scholars now will face those teams in March. Specifically, the Cayman side plays Montego Bay on 9 March and Central FC — the defending tournament champions — on 11 March.
The group winner advances through to the next round and the tournament’s top three finishers qualify for the CONCACAF Champions League.
