The Royal Cayman Islands Police Service is investigating a Sunday morning assault and a Monday morning stabbing, each in George Town.
Police say a man, 44, is in critical condition after being stabbed in the chest. He was discovered at the junction of North Sound Road and Seymour Road around 1:00am Monday (1 March). Police say he may have attended bars in the area, and they’re appealing to the public for information that may lead police to finding the person who attacked him.
Meanwhile, police are also seeking up to three suspects connected with the assault of a man who was sitting in his parked car on Boilers Road at approximately 3:00am on Sunday (29 February). The victim, 38, told police he was in his white Honda Civic when approached by a black BMW with three males and a female. Reportedly, one of the male passengers, possessing a handgun, got out of his car, smashed a window in the victim’s car and assaulted him.
The assailant is described as 5’10”, dark skinned with a slim build, 20 to 30 years of age. At the time, he was wearing jeans and a long-sleeved shirt. The victim was treated and released from the Cayman Islands Hospital.
Anyone with information on either case can call the RCIPS at 949-4222 or the Miami-based call centre for CrimeStoppers using the local telephone number 800-TIPS.
