Whether you are getting ready for a sports games, or hitting the pavement, or going to the gym, if you are going to get into physical activity you have to warm up. Psychotherapist Christine Gibbs her top ten tips for warming up.

Top ten tips for warming up

  • Reverse the effects of sitting all day
  • Increase heart rate and blood circulation
  • Increase body temperature
  • Lubricate joints
  • Do strength training
  • Be careful with static stretching
  • Get mentally prepared
  • Do sports specific  movement
  • Use plyometrics as  part of your warm up
  • Find the time to do the warm up
