TED Talks to be simulcast in Cayman

The University College of the Cayman Islands (UCCI) will be offering a free simulcast of the popular TED Talks day of speeches from Vancouver, British Columbia.

While attendees pay thousands of dollars to attend the forum in-person, the Cayman simulcast is free. UCCI is also preparing to host its own authorized local version, known as TEDxUCCI, which will feature speakers talking about their future vision for Cayman.

“We’ve got people talking about conservation,” said Dr. J.D. Mosley-Matchett, the event curator, “We’ve got people talking about using the ocean in a more effective way which is important to us as an island nation. We’ve got people talking about new ways of developing power which is important for us as well since it’s so expensive to bring in outside fuel here.”
