Teens will learn life lessons through a maze

The consequences of our decisions will be illustrated to teens at a new event hosted by the Family Resource Centre (FRC). Teen Maze is an experiential ways for young people to learn the ripple effects each choice has on the rest of your life.

Miriam Foster of the FRC says they wanted to find a unique way touch on topics, like sex and teen pregnancy, that wasn’t just a lecture. She says it was also important that the teens be able to “explore real life decisions, but in a safe setting.”

The FRC has partnered with a number of agencies, like The Red Cross and the Department of Children and Family Services, to put on the event. As teens go through the stage of the maze, they will learn about resources that are available on island, should they ever find themselves in those circumstances.

The event is for ages 12 -17.
