A tribute to the King of Reggae

Robert Nesta Marley is hailed as the King of Reggae. The Jamaican musical icon is loved the world over, and would have turned 71 years old tomorrow (February 6) if he were still with us.

He died on 11 May 1981 at the age of 36. But death has not silence his music or his legacy.

Dr. Joseph Marzouca the Consulate of Jamaica in Cayman said,”Not only is Bob Marley loved throughout Jamaica, he is an iconic musical figure world wide. He is a flag bearer for the standard of Jamaica’s music industry. Through his music he has inspired and influenced millions. Happy birthday Bob, when it comes.”

Several radio stations in Cayman like Ire 98.9 FM and Hot 104.1 FM will pay homage to the King of Reggae by playing originals and covers of Bob’s greatest hits all day during his ‘earth-strong’.

Cayman 27’s crews took to the street, on Friday February 5, to hear the people’s thoughts on Bob Marley the man and the musical legend. To view their thoughts click on the video.
