Bullets remain perfect in men’s hoops

Stephen Shaw scored a game-high 21 points while Brandon Glasgow added 20 of his own as the Silver Bullets beat George Town Sports Club 97-54 Sunday 28 February in Cayman Islands Basketball Association men’s league play.

The Silver Bullets improve to 2-0 with the victory. They’re now one of four teams still undefeated on the young season.

Cayman’s National team coach Ed Pellot-Rosa scored 18 points in the losing effort.

The Silver Bullets spent much of the game leading by double-digits and started to pull away in the third quarter. With seven seconds remaining in that stanza, Shaquille Heath missed a layup that caromed off the rim and right to a trailing Jake Whittaker whose put-back dunked extended the Silver Bullets’ lead to a game-high 20 points at that point.

In the day’s other games, Collin Anglin scored a game-high 23 points to lead the Warriors to an 86-62 win over Asian Retail Funky Tang.

Last season’s runners-up SOL Blazers beat CI Hoopsters 88-72 in the nightcap. They were buoyed by Shaad O’Garro’s double-double as he scored 18 points and grabbed 16 rebounds.
