Caymanian trio medals at Champs

Three Cayman Islands athletes over the weekend earned medals at Champs, Jamaica’s Inter-Secondary School Boys and Girls Championships.

Shalysa Wray won gold at the meet, helping St. Jago’s class two 4×100-metre team take first with a time of 45.21 seconds. It was her first Champs medal.

Jeavhon Jackson and Lamar Reid each won bronze medals at the meet.

Jackson anchored Jamaica College’s class two 4×400-metre relay team to a third-place finish. The squad crossed the line in a time of 3-minutes, 15.06 seconds.

Reid — who set the class three record (1.99 metres) in the high jump last year — placed third this season. He cleared 1.75 metres.
