Environment Break: Caybrew support shark survey

Matthew Leslie elaborates that the Caybrew and DOE collaboration. It started because the brewery created the White Tip Lager, and DOE’s studies on the white tip sharks.

Caybrew has been a major sponsor to the DOE department since 2011.  It has given them the opportunity to tag the sharks, run underwater visual survey with underwater cameras so that individual sharks and other marine predators such as the mutton snapper, lagoon snapper and the grouper population can be monitored.

Divers and snorkelers can now take part in the #SpotThatCayFish Citizen Science Program.  Individual fish are identified from photos taken that are uploaded to Facebook using the hashtag #SpotThatCayFish.

From every White Tip Lager bought, part of the proceeds will go towards the foundation.
