John Masters, a former senior Cayman Islands prosecutor and now the Director of Public Prosecutions in the Turks and Caicos Islands, is under investigation.
That country’s Integrity Commission is looking into complaints by Mr. Master’s staff and other government officials over the people he has hired as consultants. Specifically, they believe he hired friends and paid a lot of money for their services.
Mr. Masters told the TCI Sun that he is aware of an investigation but not of any details. He says he’s not surprised though, as he believes the necessary changes he made have been unpopular.
Mr. Masters was a well known figure in Cayman’s court system, having worked as Crown Counsel between 2008 and 2011.
