Gymnasts wrap up regular season

Cayman’s top gymnasts have wrapped up their regular seasons and are turning their attention to qualifying for major international competitions.

Morgan Lloyd, Sammy Peene and Raegan Rutty each competed recently at the Gymnix International competition, in Montreal, Quebec.

Peene won silver on the bars and finished eighth all-around. Lloyd finished seventh in the all-around. Her best individual event was the bars, where she took fourth.

No all-around place given for Rutty but coaches say her best event was the bars.

Lloyd is hoping to qualify for the Pan-American Championships in September, in Bolivia.

Peene and Rutty are trying to qualify for the Junior Pan-Ams and the Junior Commonwealth Gymnastics Championships.
