Ireland out of ICC World T20 after loss

Ireland has been knocked out of contention at the ICC World Twenty20 Championship after a washout 11 March in its match with Bangladesh.

Play was halted after the Bangladesh innings.

The result means the 12 March matchup between Oman and Bangladesh will decide which teams advances to the tournament’s main draw.

“With the weather now intervening it’s completely out of our hands,” Ireland Captain William Porterfield said afterward.
