Jury hears of police visits before woman was chopped to death

A jury hears that woman, apparently murdered by her violent boyfriend, regularly sought refuge in a neighbour’s apartment.

In a statement read out by the man that lived next door to Nichelle Thomas, he revealed how she would hide in a closet while her partner shouted from outside.

That man, who’s occupation on the statement was listed as working for the police, also said he was well aware of the volatile relationship the couple had.

Also on Wednesday (2 March) a pathologist who carried out post mortems on the bodies said Ms. Thomas died as a result of multiple chops to the body and Devon Campbell as a result of the hanging.

The doctor also said Mr. Campbell had sent a text to a member of his family telling them of his suicidal intentions.

Cayman 27 have been asked to point out by the RCIPS that they’ve checked their records, and have never employed a police officer by the name of Christopher Paul.
