Hollywood, the promised land, where every artist goes to make it into the big leagues. But before all these directors started making blockbusters, started at the bottom.
The young image makers film competition encourages teens to showcase their creativity by making short films or music videos, from horror to romance, even documentary. Winners get a chance to learn film at the New York Film Academy, while others have a chance to work with local filmmakers.
“Besides just having an avenue , to express themselves creatively, they also have an opportunity to work with film professionals , so if they are thinking , this might be a career path for them, they can actually meet and discuss their ideas with people who work in the field, and get tips and advice on what they can do to further themselves in that area,” said Rita Estevanovich, Director of Marketing at the Cayman National Cultural Foundation.
The Cayman National Cultural Foundation has extended the registration deadline for young filmmakers interested in entering. From now until April 13th, giving students the easter holidays to work on their films.
