More Cuban migrants now in custody

5 more Cuban Migrants are now in the custody of the Immigration Department after the migrants illegally landed in Cayman Brac yesterday March 8. The group was transported to Grand Cayman where they where then housed at the Immigration Detention Centre (IDC).

This is the second group of migrants in just as many weeks to have arrived in Cayman’s waters. They arrived shortly after 50 migrants were repatriated to Cuba a couple weeks ago.

Currently there are 109 migrants in custody at the IDC.
