Rotaract celebrates years of service

Rotaract clubs in Cayman is celebrating its service. This week is International Rotaract Week. It marks the anniversary of the first charter club, which started on March 13, 1968. During this week Rotaractors and Rotarians around the world come together to celebrate the success and important of the Rotaract programme.

Cayman has two Rotaract Clubs, Rotaract Blue (which meets in the evening) and Rotaract Club of Grand Cayman (which meets in the morning). The community is invited to join in on meetings to learn more about the service Rotaract does for the community.

As part of the celebrate the clubs will be hosting a number of community project. One is the “Be Green” campaign. Each day this week they will highlight a different eco-minded cause. Today (7 March) will focus on the Meatless Monday movement. In addition to the “Be Green” campaign the clubs will continue it’s year long blood drive. The goal for the year is to get 10,000 people to make a donation. Each donation can save up to three lives. The Rotaract clubs will also be taking over its respective Rotary sponsor club’s meeting.
