Cayman’s professional squash player is up to number 141 in the world rankings, a career-best for him and the highest any Caymanian player has been ranked.
“I’m just trying to show people that any top Caymanian athlete can compete at the highest level,” Stafford said. “That’s what I love doing is just representing my country and promoting the Cayman Islands anywhere around the world I go. I’ve got a lot of friends who are dying to come here and train because they see me training on the beach, living the island lifestyle. Other than that I just love being on the world tour, representing the best country in the world and my home country, the Cayman Islands.”
Stafford says he’s currently training in California and has tournaments coming up in Sacramento, Calif., and Madison, Wisc.
