Turn off the lights for the Earth

Enjoy a picnic in the dark for Earth Hour. Earth Hour is an international event first launched by the World Wildlife Fund in 2007. Around the world, between 8:30 p.m. – 9:30 p.m. on 19 March, people around the world will turn out their lights to raise awareness about climate change.

The National Trust will host Cayman’s Earth Hour celebrations. The Dart Park will be transformed to look like “Dr. Seuss’ The Lorax”. The environment focused film will be screened the night of the event. In addition to the film there will also be acoustic music, a professional storyteller, and the astronomical society will have their telescope on hand for stargazing.

The public is invited to turn off all lights between 8:30 p.m. – 9:30 p.m. on 19 March, and unplug items not in use.
