Volleyball Federation looks to make beach leagues more competitive

The Cayman Islands Volleyball Federation is hosting another of its beach volleyball leagues at Public Beach.

The events are widely known as a good way to spend a Sunday afternoon with friends with some friendly competition.

But the CIVF is looking to mix that recreational feel with something more competitive down the line.

“We want to try and expand the beach volleyball league out so that we include an amateur division in terms of the two-man as well as the four-man,” Cayman Islands Volleyball Technical Director Kevin Solomon said.

This year the CIVF introduced two-person team leagues.

Going forward, Solomon said they’d like to use the event to attract younger players to the game.
