Windies men, women set for semifinals

It’s a big week for the West Indies men’s and women’s teams. Both play in the semifinals Thursday (31 March) of the ICC World Twenty20 Championship.

The men, who won Group 1 in the Super 10, play Group 2 runner-up India.
The women are set to play New Zealand.

Team captains Stefanie Taylor and Darren Sammy recently sat down to preview their respective matchups.

“My guys are ready to take on the challenge,” Sammy said. “I’ve never seen a bunch of guys so determined and focused to win this tournament.”

The first round of semifinals matches were played today (30 March). On the men’s side, England defeated New Zealand to secure a spot in the finals. Australia is through on the women’s side.
