The West Indies came back from a disastrous start to its innings to beat Australia today (14 March) in its final warm-up match ahead of the ICC World Twenty20 Championship.
Chasing Australia’s total of 161, the West Indies’ first five batsmen combined for 31 runs through the first nine overs. That total included Marlon Samuels and Dwayne Bravo each being bowled for a duck.
But Darren Sammy’s half-century got the Caribbean side back in the game and eventually helped it win by three wickets.
The West Indies now look forward to the main draw of the tournament, where it’ll open group play against England on 16 March.
