Young artists collaborate for Harquail mural

Thirty of Cayman’s top young artists of all ages were brought together for a one of a kind collaboration.

Last week, as part of the Cayfest 2016 festivities, the students assembled at the Harquail Theatre for a breakfast in their honour.

In addition to performances from visiting grammy winning cellist Dana Leong, the young  artists, ranging in age from primary to high school each created a work depicting some of the Harquail’s most memorable moments.

“Those images are all going to come together in a tapestry of sorts, so we are going to weave them together to create a large format mural which will eventually be displayed at the Harquail Theatre for the public to enjoy,” said Rita Estevanovich of the Cayman National Cultural Foundation.

Ms. Estevanovich said the finished product will be ready for display in just a couple weeks.
