Cayman Airways makes profit

Cayman Airways posted its 2014-2015 audited statements and they reveal Cayman Airways made $3.6 million USD in profits.

In light of this significant sum, Premier Hon. Alden McLaughlin was asked if the government would consider privatising the company. He said at this stage the government has not thought about it, but it is not an idea they would be quick to dismiss.

He said, “That’s not something that we have contemplated as a Government, but I would never say no.” He added, “Just off the top of my head it is something that we would want to look at very carefully before we make a decision.”

The Premier was speaking at a press conference on the modernisation of the Cayman Airways fleet.
