Cayman’s Windies fans blown over by big win

Whether at home, the barber shop or at the local watering home, Cayman’s West Indies fans were glued to the television over the weekend to watch the Windies play in the ICC World Twenty20 Championship finals.

It was pure ecstasy when Carlos Brathwaite smashed four-straight sixes in the final over to deliver the Caribbean side the win against England.

“Most unbelievable game I’ve ever watched in my life,” said one fan. “Could never be happier. It’s awesome.”

The win means the West Indies Under-19 team, the women’s team and the men’s team are current world champions in the T20 format.

“Finally they won all three cups — under-19, ladies and the gentlemen,” another fan said.
